Over 7000 runners will take part in the 12th Annual Scotland 10k Run, a pre qualifer for the New York Marathon. Organized by the New York Road Runners - sponsored by The Scottish Government (learn more here)

Tartan Day Observance - Bryant Park
in association with the American-Scottish Foundation®

Free event. The Tartan Day Observance recognises and celebrates, through readings and music, The Declaration of Arbroath, signed on April 6, 1320 and the US Senate’s designation, in 2005, of April 6 of each year as “National Tartan Day”. A Presidential Proclamation was signed into effect by George W. Bush in 2008.

April 6 is recognized as "Tartan Day," a day on which we recognize the contributions of Scottish-Americans. Performances from The Highland Divas, vocal trio and Patrick Duffy, piper, with readings from the Declaration of Arbroath and Tartan Day proclamations.

Celtic/World/Folk Bagpipes meet Funk/Fusion Drums. Hannah Read and John Gribbin - modern folk songwriters with a twist on traditional Scottish songs.

Craig Weir - VIP Piper, awarded the Young Scot Award for Arts in 2014. Pipe Sergeant of Arbroath Pipe Band, he is passionate about Scotland's national instrument.
Mike Ogletree Anacoustic Mind - inspired by Robert Burns, with a blend of reggae and rock, New York's bard reflects on Scotland's national bard.

Matthew Zajac's internationally acclaimed, multi-award-winning play is a story of a son's search for his father, a story of 20th century Europe, of how a boy who grew up on a farm in Galicia (Eastern Poland, now Western Ukraine) came to be a tailor in northern Scotland.
