In celebration of Earth Day our #ScotsInUS podcast this week was in conversation with archaeologist and environmentalist Rodrick B. Maclennan as we honor and celebrate our planet during Earth Week.

Maclennan, an ASF member, has led several archeological and environmental expeditions to Scotland. His most recent being The Isle of Vallay Archaeology Climate Change Expedition.

Rodrick speaks to us about the rising seas and the effects on the West Coast of Scotland and how over a 2 year period between expeditions the impact was so profound. He is working in conjunction with the University of the Highlands and Islands in the excavation and preservation of artifacts.

This November Scotland will host the annual UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26) in Glasgow.

The ScotsInUs Podcast is available on Spotify, Anchor and Apple Podcasts.

Mark you calendars for the American Scottish Foundation’s Coast and Waterways event – Half way to COP 26 – on Zoom May 7th
