Following his victory at the weekend Scottish boxer Josh Taylor is now the undisputed light welterweight champion of the world.
Josh Taylor who comes from Prestonpans, East Lothian in Scotland produced one of the greatest moments in boxing history as he defeated the USA’s Jose Ramirez in Las Vegas at the weekend.
Dubbed the ‘Tartan Tornado’ Josh is now the holder of the WBA, IBF, WBC and WBO titles and is the undisputed light welterweight world champion.
The world champion started out doing Taekwondo at the age of 15 and even won a silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. Focusing his attention on boxing Josh Taylor quickly found that he had great skill, technique and ability in the boxing ring and was tipped for success right from the start. He made his professional debut in 2015 and now only 6 years later Josh Taylor is the undisputed world champion. Taylor is the second Scot to become undisputed world champion following on from the great Ken Buchanan.
