Scottish singer-songwriter and musician Shaz Martin‘s song Carter Scratch has been chosen to soundtrack International Women’s Day at the International Women’s Day 2021 celebrations taking place in Nashville and Cincinnati on March 7th and March 8th.
Shaz’s song Carter Scratch which has been chosen to soundtrack the International Women’s Day celebrations is a a female power anthem which pays homage to Maybelle Carter (mother in-law to Johnny Cash) and her unique guitar plying style that influenced the musical greats and revolutionized the guitar in country music.
Shaz Martin who hails from Glasgow has been making a name for her rousing anthemic songs on both sides of the Atlantic and it’s wonderful to see a Scottish talent representing at International Women’s Day. Shaz’s uplifting anthem ‘GIRL’ was chosen to be the official anthem of the Scotland National Women’s Football Team played before every match. Shaz also features on the American Scottish Foundation’s Sounds From Scotland album, available on CD from the ASF Marketplace and available as a digital download from iTunes.
The Sounds From Scotland album initiative celebrates up and coming Scottish music talent and allows the ASF to nurture Scottish talent through its Lord Malcolm Douglas-Hamilton Bursary for Arts & Education.
You can join in the International Women’s Day Celebrations live from Nashville, starting at 4PM EST on Sunday March 7th with a full two days programming of live seminars, workshops and live music celebrating the brilliant achievement of women everywhere.
