After finishing two years of Scotland&#8217;s Coasts and Waters, the Scottish Government has announced the new direction of Scotland for 2022. VisitScotland summarizes what&#8217;s to come: \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Across literature, screen and entertainment, Scotland\u2019s Year of Stories 2022 will celebrate and showcase Scotland\u2019s wealth of treasured and iconic stories and storytellers from classics to contemporary.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From Glasgow\u2019s Celtic Connections in early 2022 to Transgressive North\u2019s Map of Stories come Autumn, we have a full year of exciting events ahead of us. The American Scottish Foundation will be highlighting events as they come along through our magazine, newsletters, and ScotsinUS Podcasts!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Beginning in the early months of the year, from January to March, we will have Celtic Connections presenting &#8216;Whisper the Song,&#8217; a series of five newly commissioned events celebrating Scotland&#8217;s rich tradition of stories, interwoven with music, song and film.<\/p>\n<p>Then, Once Upon a Time in South Ayrshire<strong>, <\/strong>beginning with a celebration of Burns then featuring a varied programme of events, exhibitions and experiences that will run across the year.<\/p>\n<p>In February,\u00a0Spectra \u2013 Scotland\u2019s Festival of Light, returns to Aberdeen celebrating the humour, seriousness and sheer gallus of Scotland\u2019s storytellers, including \u2018Writ Large\u2019, which will beam the country\u2019s finest contemporary storytellers\u2019 prose and poetry in large scale projections and neon.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the year, the American Scottish Foundation will be providing you with spotlights on the events as they come.<\/p>\n<p>Watch VisitScotland&#8217;s beautiful film on Scotland 2022: Year of Stories <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iboPv2E4_y4\">here.\u00a0 <\/a>Scotland\u2019s Year of Stories 2022 will begin on 1 January 2022 and run until 31 December 2022.\u00a0 For more information <a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitscotland.com\/year-of-stories\">www.visitscotland.com\/year-of-stories<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2022, we celebrate Scotland\u2019s Year of Stories.
