TALK: A Journey Through the Hebrides
Presented by:
Kirsten Bridier, Executive Director,
National Trust for Scotland Foundation, USA
Join Kirstin Bridier, executive director of The National Trust for Scotland Foundation USA, as she explores Scotland's islands aboard the Hebridean Princess. From Iona, the cradle of Scottish Christianity, to remote St Kilda, the UK's only dual UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kirstin's travelogue will pair stories about the islands' history and culture with stunning vistas of turquoise seas, towering sea stacks, and spectacular wildlife. Learn how American Margaret Fay Shaw preserved Gaelic language and song from her home on the isle of Canna, virtually visit Fingal's Cave, the Staffa landscape that inspired Mendelssohn's Overture, and explore Inverewe Garden, an exotic paradise created from barren wilderness by Sir Osgood Mackenzie in the 19th century.
Overlooking the Central Park Zoo, with fabulous Manhattan views, the Arsenal's rooftop will provide a striking backdrop for an Iced Tea and Pimms end to your day.
Learn About how The beautiful Rooftop Garden has been created and maintained by the NY Parks Department personnel at the Arsenal Central Park.
ASF will be donating and planting as part of our support for the Arsenal rooftop garden.
