Join Christina Sinclair, Director of Edinburgh World Heritage (EWH), as she delves into the fascinating world of preservation in the UNESCO Old and New Towns of Edinburgh World Heritage Site, sharing the crucial work EWH undertakes to preserve this historic treasure.

Learn about the initiatives that protect the unique character of Edinburgh, a city celebrated for its rich history and architectural splendour. Discover how Edinburgh World Heritage promotes traditional trades and empowers communities by providing them with the expert advice and funding necessary to retain the historical character of their homes and businesses. Gain insights into the transformative 12 Closes Project, an initiative to revitalize and illuminate some of Edinburgh's most intriguing and lesser-known historical passageways.

Christina will also celebrate the deep-rooted connections between Scotland and North America, and how historical preservation efforts in Edinburgh resonate with communities across the Atlantic.

About Christina Sinclair:

Christina Sinclair (MSc, MA, BArch, IHBC) is the Director of Edinburgh World Heritage. From her background in architectural design (University of Edinburgh) and a Masters in European Urban Conservation through years dedicated to positively and proactively managing change in historic places across major public sector roles and leading major private sector restoration projects - she is a passionate ambassador and practitioner for the value and the power of Edinburgh’s outstanding historic environment. Her work ranges across active on-site conservation work, inclusive engagement, climate emergency solutions, and historic city management. She is also a United Nations Women UK CSW68 delegate, speaker, and writer.
