The Evenings Music and Singing will be led by:

Megan Friar, mezzo-soprano, has performed with the national tour of The Phantom of the Opera and has appeared with opera companies, including Sarasota, Connecticut, Virginia, Des Moines, Center for Contemporary Opera and the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players. She has also been a member of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus in their productions of Die Meistersinger, Turandot, and War and Peace. Megan has been a soloist with the Dave Brubeck Quartet at Carnegie Hall and has appeared with many symphony orchestras and choirs, including the New York Philharmonic, Sioux City, Detroit, Jacksonville, Buffalo, Eastern Connecticut, AmorArtis, Voices of Ascension, Musica Sacra and the Fairfield County Chorale. She is a faculty member of Berkshire Choral International (BCI) and appears in concert with her husband, jazz pianist Ron Drotos, singing songs from the Great American Songbook.

James Bassi is a composer, pianist, and music director. His compositions have been performed at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. His choral work, Quem Pastores Laudavere, was sung at Midnight Mass at the Vatican. Currently he is writing a musical with playwright Jared Eberlein. His music publisher is Oxford University Press. As pianist/arranger, he has performed in concerts with Deborah Voigt, Jessye Norman, Ute Lemper, Judy Kaye, and Tovah Feldshuh. He has music directed productions at Lincoln Center Theater, York Theatre, and many Off-Broadway and regional theaters. He is frequently engaged as rehearsal pianist with the New York Philharmonic.
