PAST INITIATIVES
We would like to note some of the projects that with the help of the friends of The American-Scottish Foundation® we have been able to benefit.
Among the many groups, events and projects that have received our financial support are :
- The Band of Her Majesty's Coldstream Guards, together with The Pipes and Drums of 1st Battalion, Scots Guards visited New York in October 2001 as sign of unity between the United States and Britain
- The Dunblane Fund
- The Highland Fund
- The Burns Statue restoration in Central Park, NYC, in cooperation with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation
- The creation of The John Muir Trail in Van Cortlandt Park, New York City, in cooperation with the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation
- The Scots Guards Colonel's Fund Dinner in association with the ASF Wallace Award in 2009
- The Wallace Award Dinner spotlighting the work of the Scottish Community Foundation in 2011
- The Big Apple Award in conjunction with Nordoff Robbins and Creative Scotland won by Song of Return - 2011
- Spotlighting the work of the Archie Foundation in 2012
- Support for Archie Foundation Capital Projects inc funding of New Natal Care Unit and Operating Facility 2012
- "In the Footsteps of John Muir" photographic touring exhibit : Displayed from 2013 - current
- "As others See Us" photographic Exhibit from Broaddaylight Studios, in conjunction with Pop New York. 2014
- Bryant Park exhibit Andy Scott's Kelpie 20 ft macquettes, 100ft Kelpies statues at the Helix Park Falkirk 2014
- Support for Clan Hannay Sorbie Tower Restoration Project - ongoing
- Scottish Plantings at The Grange, Alexander Hamilton's Home - ongoing
- Lord Malcolm Douglas Hamilton Bursary Program - ongoing
- Celebration of Andrew Carnegies 100th Centennial - Walking tour Map - as part of Scots Who Built New York Project - 2019
- Scots who Built New York - Legacy project - trading the important contribution of Scots and Scottish Americans to the building of New York - ongoing
