With Grateful Thanks for the support of:
Robert Burns (born January 25, 1759) is regarded as the national poet of Scotland, and was voted “The Most Important Scot” by the people of Scotland.
Five years after his passing in 1796, a group of his friends gathered to celebrate his memory – and so was born the legendary “Burns Supper,” now held around the world wherever there are Scots.
Reserve your tickets and join us for a wonderful virtual evening, as we honor and celebrate Scotland’s national bard with words and music in true Scottish style and tradition!
Through live and film segments our 2021 celebration will begin with a virtual whisky tasting and then continue on with the traditional element that make our Burns Night Celebration such a unique evening.
Kenneth C. Donnelly, Chairman of the ASF and President of the Robert Burn Society, NYC will then take us back to our Burns Night Celebration in 2020 interspersing moments from 2020 with live music and readings from 2021.
From the Piping in the Haggis to the Address to a Haggis, to Toasts to the Lads and the Lassies, with special new performances from Jamie McGeechan and Noisemaker.
In 2020 the violin owned by Robert Burns’ dance teacher, William Gregg and considered one of the most fascinating objects in shaping Scotland’s history, was part of a wonderful musical interlude played by Alastair McCulloch.
A special thank you is extended to the National Trust for Scotland Foundation USA and the Scottish Government for making it possible for this rare event to be made part of our Burns Night Celebration in 2020 and now reprised through footage of the evening in 2021.
The evening will also include a silent auction and conclude with us virtually enjoying some “enthusiastic reels and dancing.”
Once again, with our traditional Burns Celebration being moved online we are offering our Burns Celebration Silent Auction with unique and different items from Scotland as a way to help the ASF.
So please bid often and bid high …
